We are looking for a Backend Game Developer to lead development of a web-based state of the art web-game within the Dalarnia Multiverse.

About Mines Of Dalarnia

Launched back in April 2022, Mines of Dalarnia is an intergalactic mining adventure game where players dig for rare resources (minerals and gems) in order to craft new items and equipment to progress into more dangerous territory. A Darlanian miner’s goal is to become more powerful and efficient, gather wealth, face challenges and monsters in the depths, and look awesome doing it. In the future, players will be a part of multiplayer shared spaces and engage in thrilling multiplayer competitions.

As part of the Mines of Dalarnia team you will join an interdisciplinary and international team covering all aspects of game development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of game development from planning to creating and optimization game modules and documentation of the backend.
• Define technical requirements and architectural choices by working closely with other departments in an international team.
• Write code and tests, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks.
• Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud.
• Design robust and scalable APIs.
• Endorse a knowledge sharing and collaboration mindset.
• Collaborate closely with Game Design and Product Management.
  
  

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent training as an IT specialist
• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Extensive knowledge in programming languages and frameworks: Python with Django and Typescript in Node.js projects. Preferably also experience with Golang
• Extensive experience with designing robust and scalable RESTful APIs. Experience with relational as well as document-based database systems
• Experience in interacting with EVM-based smart contracts
• Preferably experience with managing and optimizing scalable distributed systems in the AWS cloud
• Profound experience in software architecture, design patterns, optimization and unit testing
• Strong problem analysis skills with the ability to find simple, robust and efficient solutions for complex problems
• Experience with code versioning tools such as git and documentation tools such as confluence
• Fluent in written and spoken English
